Growing in the Dharma — a joyful place for our youth to learn, connect, and flourish
Dharma School at Buddhist Church of Florin isn’t just a Sunday School class — it is a place where youth from preschool to high school can learn and grow, guided by mentors and educated in the ways of the Dharma.
We seek to foster a community and support system for kids to have as they come into their own, and to provide a nurturing environment for them to develop their senses of compassion and empathy. We welcome every child to join us.
We utilize an exciting and motivating curriculum covering the central teachings of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism, developed by the Buddhist Churches of America. Our lessons cover:
Our Dharma School provides warm and nurturing guidance so that children can be happier and more productive. We teach Buddhist values of kindness, patience, reflection, perseverance, respect to elders, and selflessness in a calm and gentle environment.
Our excellent staff of teachers work closely with our minister to provide fun and interesting lessons, utilizing the excellent curricular guides provided by the Buddhist Churches of America. All of our graduates have grown up to be upstanding citizens, and we are proud of every one of them.

Dharma School seniors graduating from high school may be eligible for the BCF Dharma School Scholarship. Requirements include active participation in DS and BCF events and a written essay.
Application deadline: May 1 annually.
