Kikuyo & Kinjiro Nakatani Scholarship

Multiple Awards Annually

Offers academic financial assistance to church members’ high school and college students. Graduating high school students attending full-time college or vocational school may apply. The student’s parent(s) or the student must be a BCF member.

Evaluation Criteria:

• Active involvement in church, community, and school activities
• Scholastic achievement
• Essay submission
• In-person interview

Kikuyo & Kinjiro Nakatani Public School Teacher Grant

$2,000 Grant

BCF supports public school teachers by offering a monetary grant for classroom supplies and educational materials. Because budget reductions often force teachers to pay for supplies out of pocket, BCF steps in to help.

Eligibility:

• Full-time public school teacher, Kindergarten through 12th grade
• Current member of the Buddhist Church of Florin

BCF Dharma School Scholarship

Annual Award

Each year, BCF Dharma School awards scholarships to seniors graduating from high school who meet the scholarship requirements.

Eligibility:

• Graduating from high school this academic year
• Registered/paid Dharma School member for at least 2 of the most recent years
• Planning to attend college and/or trade school

Judging Criteria: Active participation in DS/BCF events, community programs, and an essay of minimum 800 words.

Deadline: May 1. Scholarships awarded on the last Family Service in June.
